Hello, lovely people! So glad to have you stop by! Welcome to our weekly feature spotlight at devfeatures. Each week you will be able to explore a variety of amazing features compiled by awesome community stars, who aim to promote and give recognition to their fellow deviants.
Tomorrow is the day dedicated to showcasing your own art in the Members feature. I’m looking forward to seeing your art in our gallery and your favourite art suggestions here.
This week I'd like to start out by showcasing this amazing initiative in support of Earth Day undertaken by a team of ecology-conscious deviants: Andorada, Mouselemur, GeorgeXVII, TheGalleryOfEve, Malintra-Shadowmoon, lucytherescuedcat and StemmyBotanist. They have created this rich and beautiful feature that shows the interation between humankind and nature.

the ballad of the scarlet me see that burn of yours,
you said to your dismay.
i showed my hand, its molten skin.
you sighed and turned away.
it's all i have, it's not that bad,
the skin will sprout afresh.
it's tenderness and ache in one,
it's memory made flesh.
---
the sky was dark, the forest still
that unforgiven night.
by dancing flame he took my hand,
by fire i held his tight.
before the start it was too late,
before the end, we'd lost:
once skin had grafted onto skin
anguish was the cost.
---
this wound is healing far too well
i'm told by those who know,
who see it in my sparkling eyes:
i need this scar to show.
and if i'm asked the hows and whys
i will not be a liar:
i couldn't stop, i drank too much,
i fell into a fire.

Best of NaPo 2018 Week...2?I guess I didn't do a "Best of Week 2?" Like, I could have sworn I did. So! I will post Week 2 right now, and I will do Week 3 tomorrow. Also, to make up for this I'll try to make both features longer this time And maybe by then I will find where my brain went.
Quick note! Don't forget, if you're trying to participate in the NaPo Commenting Contest (which honestly you should) any pieces featured on Challenge winner journals AND pieces featured in my weekly "Best Of" (like this one) count for double points. So keep that in mind. If you do comment on these for that purpose, try to remember to star those when you note the group with your comments at the end of the month!
For more info, see here: NaPo Comment Contest!
Anyway, you know the deal. Show these guys some love.

The Dreamer and the Night - a sestinaTwo o'clock in the morning, and he's not sure
why he's awake. He's got something on his mind
but doesn't know what yet. The house is nestled in night,
someone must be asleep still, upstairs in the bedroom,
the thought is comforting, vaguely, a ripple of warmth
in a wide pool of blankness.
The walls here are like blankets,
white and cotton-soft, steady and sure
under his hands. He stays close to the warmth –
the oven must be on, the thought crosses his mind
that he must be baking, for static//that person in the bedroom,
though it is close to midnight.
Nothing wrong with a midnight
snack, and he tries to count the cookies in the blankness,
thinking to make enough for everyone up in the bedrooms,
two, three, twenty-four, seven? there's enough, he's sure.
Either way, the kids would not mind
having to share, as long as the food is warm.
He is swimming now and the current is warm,
the lovely wrongness of empty classrooms at night
comes to mind,
that thick soupy bl

Please, drop a nice word to these generous people as well as the artworks that you particularly like. I hope you leave with at least a few new favourites and if you enjoy the feature, fav it and share it to help spread the love.
You are welcome to submit awesome features (both yours and others’) in the respective gallery folders, which are now open for members and non-members alike.
This week's feature is noticeably shorter. The reason for this is that a few people have told me so many features at the same place are quite overwhelming. Therefore I'm giving it a try to only feature the ones that really WOWed me. I will still be requesting a lot more for the group's gallery, so if you'd like to keep an eye on everything that's happening, check out the gallery folders, or if you're a member of the group you will simply receive them in your notification centre.
